Hi all,

What we did lately:

Quick update: we managed to recycle paper.. the project should run from now. The bad part is that IAsirecicleaza doesn’t recycle cardboard 

We had some singing at karaoke (Froh is not my style at all) videos coming soon.

We had visits from US&Canada (some of them actually made some nice pictures)

Started a partnership with Math-Info faculty
They will have Delphi classes from the fall.

And..

We manage to upload some pictures on jobs.ro :D .

Hi there,

2008 has passed away with the starting of the crisis and a lot of things good and bad.

There is a part of Embarcadero that does not forget to be social responsible even in the hard times. In the end of 2008 we organized an internal event to support ASII in their action “Inima de student”.

The event was mainly a charity party (also we had the fun part and the traditional Christmas carols) with a “Bring a thing” project. Also a part of the money donated came from donation from Embarcadero Iasi team members.

The idea of “Bring a thing” means that some of the team members bring objects and donate them to a person. That person is organizing an auction for selling the objects. The money from the auction are than donated to a social cause.

Here are some details regarding the event (in Romanian), more from ASII’s perspective and as impact of the action.

Hi all,

We are currently looking for a colleague in the position of Tools Developer for C++ Builder.

A Brief job description would sound something like this:

"Tools developer for C++Builder
Job Description

Join a C++ development team, working on Code Gear’s compiler tool chain functionality.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining C++ compiler tool chain technologies, including compiler front-end and back-end, C++ linker, runtime libraries and command line tools.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain functionality for CodeGear tools , including C++Builder
• Develop unit tests for existing and new product features
• Develop regression tests for reported defects
• Debug and fix defects in existing and new product features
• Develop sample/demo applications
• Implement new product features

Skills and Experience Required:

• Object oriented programming experience
• C++ good knowledge is a must, experience in development with C++ desired
• Component based software development
• Familiarity with software engineering principles
• Experience with unit testing and regression testing
• Knowledge and experience on Windows platforms, .NET a plus
• Knowledge on Delphi is a plus
• Understanding of Agile development process is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including good written and spoken English
• University degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering"

Fresh graduates’ resources

Hi there,

Already a lot of companies in Iasi have recruiting freeze due to the economical and financial crises. In this time I think about the next generation of fresh graduates that will finish university in 2009.

In this direction I remember that lot of fresh graduates, with no experience, ask about materials that should go through in order to pass at least the tests from the companies.

In this direction I’ve decided to publish some links that I believe that might help.
